Michael is the founder of Polaris MedTech, providing the practical engineering expertise needed to turn innovative medical technologies into reliable, manufacturable products.
Throughout his career, Michael has focused on solving the challenges that arise when moving from concept to manufacture. He has worked across the medical device lifecycle, from developing automated high-volume manufacturing solutions at Smith+Nephew to establishing early-stage manufacturing capability for novel clinical devices at King’s College London.
His experience includes developing and commissioning a state of the art cleanroom facility for the manufacture of active implantable devices, designing and implementing automated production processes for advanced wound care products, developing prototypes across a range of medical applications, and leading process improvement programmes that have improved productivity, quality and manufacturing efficiency.
Having worked alongside clinicians, researchers, start-ups and established MedTech companies, Michael understands the challenges of translating promising ideas into products that can be manufactured, validated and scaled.
